Lagoon sailing and motor layouts for a Nice charter
Choose the passage as well as the living space: Lagoon’s Nice guides cover sailing at two scales and the broad deck of the 630 Motor Yacht.
A sailing day with a broad gathering
The 40 and 42 place the saloon beside a sheltered cockpit, with a raised helm close to that main living area. The twin hulls divide private accommodation while preserving a broad place for meals and company above. This is a different experience from a monohull’s narrower deck and from a power catamaran’s motor-led programme. Choose sailing because the passage matters, then use the individual model plans to compare how the party will live aboard.
The 40 and 42 make different use of scale
The 40 has a 6.76-metre beam; the 42 is wider at 7.68 metres. Three-cabin owner and four-cabin layouts serve different sharing preferences on both models. A couple seeking a more private hull and friends wanting similar bedrooms may reach different conclusions. For a day, compare the protected table and movement around the deck; for several nights, give cabins and bathrooms equal attention.
The 620 and 630 change more than length
The sailing 620 and power-focused 630 Motor Yacht both have a ten-metre beam in their published specifications, substantially wider than the 40 and 42. The 620 makes sailing part of the programme and has differing galley and cabin arrangements. The 630 centres the passage on motor cruising without a sailing rig.
Both bring larger flybridge and shared-deck settings, but they should be chosen for different holiday rhythms. A Nice coastal stay can favour the act of sailing, or place greater emphasis on the broad living space and time at rest.
A flexible route from the Nice area
Decide whether the principal pleasure is sailing, a leisurely meal or a specific coastal setting. The wind may make one order of activities more enjoyable than another. A nearby pause and sufficient time on the water can create a complete day without a long list of destinations. Fixed shore appointments are possible planning constraints, but should be chosen deliberately rather than inserted into every sailing brief.
The actual starting point completes the plan
A catamaran’s width is relevant to berthing as well as living space. The charter arrangement identifies a suitable joining port or transfer, the exact model and version, and its current accommodation. Share the dates, guest group and preferences for time under sail or at rest. These details help turn a general interest in a Lagoon into a model and programme that fit the holiday.
