Choose water access that suits your Nice yacht day
Look past the platform photograph. The ladder, handholds and route back into the cockpit decide how water access will work for your group during a yacht day from Nice.

A platform is part of an access route
Start at the main seating area and follow the route to the water. Are there steps, gates or changes of level? Where can a guest sit while putting on equipment?
How do they reach the ladder on returning? These details can matter more than the platform’s apparent size. Some platforms move, others are fixed, and their use is controlled by the crew.
A broad surface in an image does not establish accessibility for every person or permission to stand there while underway. Ask for current photographs of the actual yacht’s arrangement.
Plan for getting back aboard
Entering the water can be easier than climbing out. Tell the operator if anyone is inexperienced or may need assistance, without assuming the platform itself solves that need. A ladder’s depth, angle and handholds affect its use, as do the conditions.
Keep the area clear for one person at a time when directed by the crew. Children need appropriate supervision agreed for the charter. A guest who prefers not to swim should still have a comfortable place to enjoy the stop; the day need not require every person to take part in the same activity.
Let the captain choose a practical stop
The coast east of Nice offers different settings, but no particular bay should be treated as an automatic swimming area for every day or vessel. Conditions, traffic, local arrangements and the yacht’s operating limits influence the decision. Leave enough time in the programme for the captain to assess a suitable place and for everyone to return aboard without rushing.
A short charter filled with distant landmarks may leave little useful time for the water. State that swimming is a priority before the route and duration are chosen.
Separate a useful feature from an included activity
A swim platform does not by itself mean that snorkelling equipment, paddleboards or powered water toys are included. Equipment, supervision and permission to use it need their own confirmation. If a particular activity matters, name it with the number and experience of participants.
Request the actual yacht’s platform and ladder details, then compare the crew service, departure, charter scope and complete quotation. The platform’s layout, the yacht’s equipment and conditions on the day determine how it can be used safely and comfortably.
Charter questions
Does a hydraulic platform make a yacht accessible for everyone?
No. The complete boarding and movement route must be assessed for the individual needs of the guests and the actual yacht.
Does a swim platform guarantee a swimming stop?
No. A stop depends on the captain’s assessment, the route and conditions. Make swimming a priority in the enquiry so the schedule can accommodate it when practical.
